new executive body of Kokrajhar district committee of All Bodoland Artistes’
Association (ABAA) was formed at Chandamari, Kokrajhar on Monday to work for
the uplift of the artistes and Bodo cinematography. The association was formed
at the behest of central committee of the ABAA. Akalabya alias Araitha
Brahma of Ramfalbil was unanimously selected as the president of the new body
while Dwithun Brahma was chosen as the general secretary. Bhanu Uzir
Basumatary, Monjit Narzary and. Nitu Basumatary became vice–presidents while
Pirachan Brahma, Raja Narzary and Shimanta Basumatary alias Laden became
secretaries respectively.

Besides, Adam Borgoyary
was entrusted as the treasurer while Raju Kr. Brahma and Swapan Brahma became
the speaker and deputy speaker. The meeting which was chaired by the
president of the ABAA Bikash Basumatary was addressed by noted film artistes,
Umesh Chandra Brahma, script writer, Chilarai Basumatary and Bhanu Uzir
Basumatary. The meeting was attended by a good number of cine artistes,
choreographers, producers, actors and local people.
