Forest is regarded as a lung
of the Earth. Because it gives out oxygen which makes it a vital for the living
species of the planet.
1. The
year 2011 was special because it was declared by the United Nations to be the
international year of Forests.
2. Canada
has 397.3 million hectares of forest and other wooded land that account for 10
per cent of the world’s forest cover.
3. The
Soil of a forest and the leaves of the trees in it absorb up to 50 cent of
rains.
4. The
crooked Forest in Poland is a forest of about 400 pine trees that grow with a
90 degree bend at the base of their trunks, before rising vertically again.
5. Russia’s
vast forest covers 809 million hectares, which is more than one fifth of the
world’s forest area.
