History: Let us not forget Meches(Bodos) living in the Nepal so that they will never loss their ethinicity.. Many people are misunderstanding our origin Meches and Bodos never represents different tribes they are same. Each drop of blood from Meches will have cent percent similarity with Bodos living in any corner of this world. In many places of eastern Nepal especially at Japha of Mechi zone we have Bodo tribes living with a name known as "Meches" they are also Bodo-Kiratas.

It is due to Aryan invasion in our land we have pushed away from each other although being great warriors Meches were compelled to scatter in some parts of Nepal,West Bengal,Bhutan and mainly in Pragjyotishpur(Purgajwngtipur). A Large number of Meches living at the districts of Kokrajahar,Bangsa,Odalgudi,Darrang, Twipur,Chirang,Dubri,Lakhimpur, Dwimaji are now better known as "Bodos" and misspelled as "Boro"by the people to confuse with the meaning "big" in Bengali.

Meches are mostly cultivators, they used to practise "jhum cultivation" known as "Hadan"but nowadays they have started ploughing with bullocks such practise is commonly known as "Halewnai"(Ha kou ew nai slightly similar with the meaning digging a part of soil). Meches women rear silk worms and are expert weavers. Meches are good hunters and expert in archery. Meches and Limbus are very close in respect of their origin,.Meches worship Sijow as their principal god known as Bathoubwrai.

 Note:

1."Your each drop of blood is full of extraordinary skills(hunting, farming, weaving etc) that you have inherited from your ancestors(Bodos) just you need to make it alive with full spirit"

2."The skills that we have inherited from our ancestors are the greatest weapons to uplift our Bodo society"

3. "We the Bodos are socially independent tribes from rest people and this is our merit point to purify our race for everlasting future".
