Local NEWS: The rich cultural heritage of the Tiwas inhabiting Assam and Meghalaya has so far remained sheltered and hidden from public exhibition largely due to the lack of opportunities and avenues of preservation, sustenance and display on 1st, 2nd & 3rd April 2016.
In order to highlight and showcase varied aspects of the lives of the Tiwas under the context of the rich cultural heritage of the Northeast, the "Tiwa Shongla Chomot (Tiwa Youth Association)" - a Tiwa Youth Organisation, organised a three day "Ringshang-Tiwa Youth Festival" (for the First time in Tiwa History) which concluded on friday (1st April 2016) at Pub-Sindhisor Pera, Amlighat venue of the festival near Jagiroad, Morigaon (Tiwashong) Assam with various programmes and a "Tiwa Fashion Show" Conducted By Sumir Domolong, Mrinal Saikia, Probin Lalung, Mahasweta Lalung, Suresh Pator respectively.
