Weird World: In our modern era,when we
are slowly advancing into previously unseen territories through the destruction
of the jungles and rainforests,and new
technology helping humankind,dominate every
rural landscape,it would
be fair to say Man would consider himself the ultimate lords of our domain.
But have we lulled ourselves into a false sense of security?Are we really the TOP of the food chain?Are there creatures out there,lurking unseen and unknown to biology,possibly having evolved over millions of years that are created to kill?Creatures that may have eluded us for years and occasionally sprung from the unknown and attack,without warning,innocent people and raised the question:do we even know what the top of the food chain is?
For centuries tales of enigmatic,murderous creatures have abounded from all corners of the globe,with perhaps the most well-known case being the tale of the Beast of Gévaudan,a massive wolf-like creature said to have gone on a rampage in the former French province between 1764 and 1767.Over 100 deaths have been attributed to this creature,said by some to be a new species of deadly predator that has escaped classification and possibly gone into hibernation,it also said to have a reclusive nature.But has such a creature,or something like it,emerged from the shadows again,possibly responsible for multiple attacks that have continued up to the modern day?
The agricultural region of Dowa in Malawi is said to have been the centre of a killing spree by an unknown creature as recently as 2003.In this case,as well as the Gévaudan terror,the massacre ended abruptly and left many baffled and perplexed as to what had been responsible for the widespread terror that had enveloped the area,not to mention the reportedly three people killed and almost twenty people who survived gruesome attacks by this creature who was said to have prowled the locality since March of that year.The victims of The so-called "Malawi Terror Beast" had their skulls crushed,and internal organs and sexual organs were said to have been eaten.Of the many who claimed to have survived an attack by this creature many,if not all,have suffered horrible disfigurements including missing ears,eyes,noses and limbs.

A massive hunt was started after nearly 4000 citizens
fled their homes in panic and sought refuge in town halls,and ultimately
police,gamekeepers and
paramilitary forces were unable to find such a creature.The official
report stated that it was a wild rabid hyena responsible,however many
survivors described a larger dog-like creature,with hyena
attributes,that had
a thirst for blood.Many superstitious
villagers believe that it was the vengeful spirit of a hyena that had been
killed the previous year after it murdered 5 people in a nearby area.
In 2012 a strange creature,described as a cross between a bear and a boar,attacked a plantation worker and later a farmer in Indonesia.It appeared in both attacks that the creature was "very pissed off".and was described to have had a long mane and very sharp claws.On both occasions t is said to have reared up on its hind legs before attacking,and emitted a disgusting stench.It took another farmer to be killed before the creature was hunted down,and it is said that the carcass had villagers stumped as it to possible species.

And in Vietnam,the villagers
of Lao Cai province reportedly witnessed on a number of occasions a group of
"dog-like" creatures. who were quickly attributed to cases of
livestock and pet killings,and although
no humans were killed,16 people claim they were bitten by these "slanted
red-eyed" beings,and many
local dogs had their heads completely torn from their bodies in gruesome attacks.The area
had been for some time plagued by terrifying howling in the nights leading up
to the attacks,and many
canine-like footprints were found.
There are many more accounts of humans from all over the world being attacked and killed by mysterious beasts,a massive amount that this writer believes begs genuine scientific inquiry into the possibility that cryptid animals of a perhaps canine or feline species,have been existing for centuries alongside Mankind,and every so often remind us of their existence by leaving a possible reclusive lifestyle and make themselves known by attacking and killing humans.
Or are these stories just exaggerated versions of attacks by known big cats and wolfs or hyenas?
