Southeast Asian forests ‘species are facing the danger of Extinction: Recent studies suggests

Environment NEWS:  More than 200 of the mammal, bird and amphibian species that were newly identified are at great risk of being extinct and about 28 bird species, 147 amphibian  species, and 42 mammal species were identified as being at highest risk.

Remote-sensing technologies add a new valuable tool for the conservation for the endangered species to give more accurate and up-to-date for evaluating the species’ and to level the unlisted species.

Recent studies have revealed that nearly 40 percent of the species are likely have less than 10 per cent of their habitats are protected for the future development.

With more than 56 percent of the world’s rubber and 39 per cent of palm oil are now produced in South Asia. The greater risk of more deforestation cannot be ruled out.

Although, Remote-sensing technologies may help in keeping database recorded of the species as recent studies has suggest. But, protecting forest at foremost is much or it shall be waste of time.
