We’re constantly trying to push ourselves to do the concepts that we haven’t done before – Hadwt Baglari

Nwjwr was founded way back in April 2013 by a bunches of schoolmates who had a keen interest towards music their first official video ‘Rest of my life’ was hit despite being hit song it was badly critics by some folks. But, that could not pull them down. Today, Nwjwr is known for collaborating with different musicians of the region and also promoting the local musicians through their YouTube channel (Nwjwr Production).

Their recently released official video ‘Sona’ was smashing hit; the song reached 1 lakh views within four days of release. We talked to one of the member of Nwjwr (Mr. Hadwt Baglari) who has been making videos for the band and other musicians under the Nwjwr Productions.  To know more about their recent video ‘Sona’.

Have you ever felt like you guys have come a long way battling with naysayers?

Hadwt Baglari: At one point in our life, we are bound to meet naysayers, be it colleagues, friends or people in the social media. We have listened to them and their viewpoints and questioned ourselves are they valid? If they don’t make sense to us we just let it go. Naysayers have little to add to the conversation, only endeavoring to extinguish our hopes and dreams. We have met our fair share of naysayers in life. We are not going to entertain anyone who is trying to overthrow us from achieving our highest potential.

Over the years... You guys has worked or collaborated with different cinematographers or brands or musicians. Did you felt the challenges within yourself that it has to be better this time than any projects you have worked for?

Hadwt Baglari: Hardships were always there but our main motive was to stand out from other music videos of the region and represent it in our own vision/style. We’re constantly trying to push ourselves to do the concepts that we haven’t done before, to show new sides to the audience, to keep it fresh and to continually challenge ourselves to produce better content.

Tell us something about the Music video ‘Sona’.

Hadwt Baglari: So, basically the storyline of the video is quite simple, and overall the visuals portray of the story of one-sided love in friendship though the ending has a bit of a twist, something unexpected we wanted to end it that way. And about how the video was made — the producer and the director came up with the idea of music video after our music producer (HiroNYa) released the track. Song Basumatary the director, co-producer and a good friend of mine pinged me up if I can collaborate and help them with the cinematography and post (Editing). Later we hanged out for pre-production discussion and two days later we headed to Shillong where we shot 60% and came back Guwahati to shoot the remaining 40%. I think that's how pretty much the music video came up. I enjoyed the collaboration between director and cinematographer and the combined creativity coming out of that partnership. Oh, and the Post-production part, we had a hard time compiling it up because some stuff we planned went wrong on the shoot due to weather conditions and a shortage of time. So we had to improvise the script with the shots we had to meet up the storyline. The music video was scheduled to release on 5th August in Friendship Day but due to ongoing movie shoot it was delayed a day, later we successfully released it on 6th August. We are releasing the behind the scenes soon hope the audience will see more insights in the video.

Was there any problems related to the casting of the well-known personalities for this music video?

Hadwt Baglari: The director had a clear mindset for the cast as Dhwrwm was the co-producer, co-actor and a friend, meanwhile while Dhwrwm was selected as Top 20 finalist for Mr. Global Final. Sangina Brahma renowned actress and now turned to fashion designer was designing the outfit for Dhwrwm’s final event. Later he approached her to be part of the music video and she agreed. Everything was sorted out so it was quite easy for us. Few days later...we just packed our stuff and headed up for the shoot!
