Assam boxers have been ranked in the top amateur boxers world rankings released
by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) recently.
Lovlina
Borgohain who has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics has been ranked third in the
under 69kg weight category while Jamuna Boro has been ranked fifth in the under
54kg weight category.
Olympian Shiva Thapa has been ranked 16th in the under 60kg weight
category.
Assam Amateur Boxing Association president Kalikanta Boro and
general secretary Hemanta Kumar Kalita congratulated the boxers for their
achievements.
