Plastic pollution, is
the biggest problem the world is battling now. With no end in sight, there are
some eco-friendly which promise to fight with plastic pollution. But, 99% of
products that we buy are of plastic and that is where? eco-friendly product and
that is where? eco-friendly product fail to win over this biggest
problem-
Below are the problems
created by plastic pollution -
1. One
million sea birds and 100,000 marine mammals are killed annually from plastic
in our oceans.
2. Billions of tons of
plastic can be found in swirling convergences in the oceans making up about 40%
of the world's ocean surfaces. 80% of pollution enters the ocean from the land.
3. The production of
plastic uses around 8% of the world's oil production (bio-plastics are not a
good solution as they require food source crop)
4. It takes 500-1000
years for plastic to degrade.
