In an almost unbelievable turn of events, a
one-year-old toddler from Mohchhi Bankatwa village in the Majhauliya block bit
a deadly cobra to death—and miraculously survived the encounter.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon
when the child, Govinda, was playing outside his home and came face-to-face
with the venomous snake. Moments after the bizarre confrontation, Govinda lost
consciousness, leaving his family in a state of panic. He was immediately
rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors worked swiftly to stabilise him.
To the astonishment of both medical
professionals and villagers, the toddler showed no severe effects of the
snake’s venom and is now out of danger, though he remains under observation.
Govinda’s grandmother, Mateshwari Devi,
recounted the shocking incident to local reporters: “The snake came out, and
the child hit it with something and then bit and killed it. It was a gehuaan
(cobra). The child is just one year old.”
The entire village has been left in
disbelief, with many calling the incident a divine miracle. While it is unclear
whether the cobra managed to bite or inject venom before being killed, experts
emphasize that surviving such close contact with a highly venomous snake is
exceptionally rare.
This is not the first such case in recent
times. Last year, a similar incident was reported from Gaya, where another
toddler survived after biting a snake to death.
Doctors have urged parents to remain vigilant
and keep small children away from areas where snakes or other dangerous
creatures may lurk. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the
unpredictable dangers young children can face—and, in this case, an almost
unbelievable tale of survival.
