Banana Crow Curry: Trying Banana in different way

Food & Cuisine: I didn’t remember when did I eat the Banana Crow curry last time. I almost forget its flavour, like it was long forgotten memories of that of childhood days.

Tribe who introduce it:

Thalit Daokha or in English Banana Crow is a local name keep by Bodo people of Assam,India. To a banana which is long in size, it is said it lost its flavour when it is eaten when it ripped up. That is why it is made curry. As far as the name goes ‘No one can for sure say from where it got its name, someone say ‘Maybe someone saw a crow eating the banana from there it got its name’. Bodo people are fond of eating this Banana Crow. I can’t for sure say other tribes to know that it can be eaten as curry.

Trying for yourself :

Banana Crow curry is easy to make, but knowing the right banana is another difficult task for the new people. That is why a picture of the banana Crow has been uploaded along with this article. Banana Crow curry can be best with Potato or the small catfish.  These two beautifully mixed us with Banana Crow giving the flavor of the Banana Crow come alive.

Making Process:

At first, we have to slice it into pieces, make sure you don’t make two small slices. Removed the upper part layer of the banana as you do with the ripped banana fruit before eating it, now take hot fan add water two to three cups of water, and then put the entire sliced banana in the hot fan. Make it boil and the added salt for taste, turmeric, chilli if you want .Or the fish , if you have taken to add with it. Now, leave it for 10 to 20 minutes to cook. You don’t have to smash the sliced banana. The hot water makes it soft, nice and tender. Mixing up the flavour with the fish or any other meat or vegetables.

In the end, you get the different taste of Banana fruit.
