Religion: Sijou is a shadow of the Siva. Long back before becoming goddess she (Tulsi) worshipped Vishu god it is said according to one old priest of Bodo that there occurred war between Tulsi goddess’s husband and Siva it was Great War where both sides seem strong. Not able to defeat Tulsi’s goddess husband he when to take help from Vishu. It is also said that Vishu god took the figure of Tulsi’s husband after a long war he (Siva) chopped off the head of Tulsi’s goddess husband by trisul.
When Tulsi goddess was along with Vishu a head fall from above when she went to see whose head it is she realize it is her husband.When her husband was being burned before cremation she jumps in the fire. He(Bodo priest) also said that Tulsi’s goddess husband hated Siva. From those ashes, a plant grows that came to be known as Tulsi.Tulsi is a holy plant of Hindu mythology it is said that it is really good for health.
