He had started his speech with how this Mother Tongue Day was started. In Bangladesh, four young freedom fighter died during the fight for the language. Every year Bangladesh celebrates this International Mother Tongue Day at 21st February at 12 am to show respect to these heroes. On that day, each and every person of the Bangladesh takes part without any ill feelings for anyone. Shri J P Saikia said that till date all the ruling and rival parties of Bangladesh celebrates this day together and till now no incidents happened during celebration. On this day not a single person use other languages.

He also shared about his experiences as a reporter and as an editor. He had suggested the students that no matter how much good intention you have for the others' betterment, still one should not promote a fake news. Promoting fake news cannot be a reporter's work and it goes against its ethics. He said that during Bangladesh independent war, it was said that women of Bangladesh didn't support the way they could. For that reporters planned to create a fake news and to get the support from Bangladesh's women. Dainik Sangbad newspaper's reporter Bikat Choudhary had written a news that a college girl Roshanara, who had bombed herself in Pakistani tank and around 16 soldiers died. This same news was written in English by J P Saikia at that time. After that news all the women of Bangladesh and other peoples started supporting the freedom revolution with more energy and power. In India even a Roshonara divas was celebrated. But in reality nothing was happened. The news was an imaginative story of the reporter only to boost up the energy and interests of women towards the freedom fight. By saying this J P Saikia said that he still regrets for doing that report though they had a good motive. Because, it might lead towards more pathetic conditions in Bangladesh at that time.
