Local NEWS: Over a lakh free
textbooks were distributed to Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) Schools
under Kokrajhar (Titaguri) Block Elementary Education Office (BEEO) at
Titaguri, Shyamgaon in Kokrajhar on Wednesday. In the formal distribution, 1.79
lakh textbooks were distributed to the schools for the academic session of 2015
under Kokrajhar block for Bodo and Assamesse medium schools. Swmdwn Narzary,
Block Elementary Education Officer, Kokrajhar and Block Mission Coordinator of
SSA graced the function as chief guest and distributed the books to the
schools. Narzary said that the distribution of books among students should be
completed by January 7 and if there was any shortage it should be reported to
the office concerned before January 7.
He also said that the office was yet to
receive nearly 51,000 books and the requisition letter had been submitted to
the higher authority. Among others, K Thakuria, DPO (IED), Ajit Basumatary,
member of the distribution committee under Kokrajhar block MC and president of
Kokrajhar Press Club, and Hantigiri Narzary were present on the occasion.
