Interview: These folks from (Daobayari) are talented in many ways.That is why? If I have to take a name after Nwjwr the Band that would be (Daobayari).These guys are talented they know how to represent their songs to the listeners.When I first saw their first official video ‘Jebwla Nwng’ I was impressed by the song.So,I decided to chat with these guys to know more about them…

Greetings! How’s going?

Kalyan Boro: Everything is going good , going well ,Sir!

What were the challenges did you guys faced in making this video ‘Jebwla Nwng’

Kalyan Boro: Well during the shoot of “Jebwla Nwng” we did face some problems as we were not well planned. It was a three-day shoot. As all of our members are sophomores and stay away from home for their studies so we had to finish the shoot before the deadline and it was a great challenge for us. The funny thing was that we lacked concept and directions so everything was made up on the shooting site itself.

From Rap & Hip Hop Group to emotional Rock band. How was the journey?

Kalyan Boro: We guess our listeners got twisted after our new song making ‘em think that we got our genre changed. But it’s nothing like that.

Please! Tell us something about your first official video ‘Jebwla Nwng’

Kalyan Boro: “Jebwla Nwng” this song is a real story about a guy who fell in love with a girl. The guy was with her in the times of good and bad, but still the girl chooses to be with someone else breaking his heart even after knowing that the guy had a deep feeling for her. So in the song, he recalls his sweet memories that he had shared with her.

Why a sudden decision of changing the genre? Or like a no more going to work

Kalyan Boro: We didn’t change our genre. The fact is we are influenced by various genres like Rap, Rock and RnB. So we tried something different genre this time while sticking to the same old genre.

How you guys came together?

Kalyan Boro: The journey of our band to the music world started off in the late March 2014 when Mukul , Jwngdao and Kalyan came up together just for a mixtape for the song called “Alien” and later formed a band since there wasn’t any musical band in the town. And later after our First single we were joined by Nicoleson, Nijwm , Badal and Mrinmay. Since then our band was comprised of 7 members

You guys had played in Udalguri Beach Festival? How was the experience playing there?

Kalyan Boro: It was our first experience on the stage as a band in the Beach Fest ’15 so the experience was amazing.

Please! Tell the meaning of your band name ‘Daobayari’

Kalyan Boro: The word “Daobayari” means traveller. The reason why we ended up choosing this name is that we all are travellers of life. No matter how difficult or critical situation we fall into we eventually fight it back for our lives cause that’s life.

There is total of Five (5) songs including one official video which you guys had released so far ? Which is the favourite of your and why?

Kalyan Boro: So far we have received more positive feedbacks for the song “Aangni Onsuli” apart from the other four songs from our beloved listeners be it a bodo or any other person. So it’s like people’s choice is our choice.

“Gabjribai thadwng” is one of all time favourite song of mine. And who,was that rapper was he a guest vocalist

Kalyan Boro: We are glad to know that you liked our rap rock genre song “Gabjribai Thadwng” and the rapper in the song is no one but the member of the band Kalayn Boro aka “Kay B” himself.

Apart from music, what you guys do?

Kalyan Boro: For your kind information since we are teenagers so apart from the music we are just a High School students doing our studies.

Any future plan, like a side project?

Kalyan Boro: In the days to come we for sure gonna work on more songs and videos but before that all we dream is about having a studio of our own and equip ourselves. We might vanish from the music world for a while but we’ll come up again with better skills and different taste in music for our beloved listeners.

Any message to your fans out there?

Kalyan Boro: The only message we want to deliver to our fans is that as long as we stand stiff against all the hurdles we face in our life with our head held high with a big smile on face cherishing every moment before the journey of life is over we’ll be called Daobayaris. Have a blast because life doesn’t last long.
