(Reader’s Article) The plains under North Eastern Himalayan Range has always been anthropologists delight and administrator’s nightmare. Here the beauty of nature and cultural heritage is preserved in its best by the majority of what so called Dalits.

But the immigrants encroaching towards homelands of permanent dwellers, failure in government’s plan implementation, no industrial development, race in societies caste system have made people of these areas feel estranged from Indian mainland which has provoked them to raise a political voice among the whole residence of North Eastern Plains and these   have proved to be cancerous for socio-economic growth of this region. People from this region has always enthusiastically embraced and enjoyed their culture and tradition but now in this generation where our countries literacy rate stands 63.82% the minor group of people who were not provided any states when Indian government had redrawn geographical structure of states on basis of majority spoken language seems struggling hard to preserve their identity.

Experiencing the northern part of West Bengal and through the chicken neck of India to seven sisters one is sure to develop a political ideology and humanity over poverty. Analyzing the fact to its level of ground zero, the maximum of Dalits here are still deprived of basic needs and rights.
Really! Are WE among the world’s topmost developing countries with a GDP of 7?

One such group which fall under this category are Bodo’s (pronounce: Bo Ro) , the largest tribe in Brahmaputra River Valley and extending towards West towards Teesta River till Mechi River(Nepal). They are generally farmers by occupation, believed to be the first to grow paddy beside Brahmaputra River. In the course of time, they have attained a development in their living standard and in every aspect of life through modernization, globalization and because of education by far but boro’s have not forgotten their rich culture and tradition. The sound of kham, jotha (musical instrument) is still heard at gatherings for a Maizu (rice beer) after sunset. The Dokhnaand Gamsais still in common use as dress code.

Their youths are now more enthusiastic and participating in politics, sports, business and even in the administration of the country, adding up to nations upliftment.

Language is an identity of a community and Boro’s believe language as their true distinctiveness and pride. Boro language is recognized under scheduled languages in Indian Constitution meanwhile with modernisation is also a vulnerable and endangered language.

The different cast and culture system have existed in India past history and have been one of the major cause of countries unrest all the time.Meanwhile one should also keep in mind as it holds countries pride of being rich in cultural diversity at UNESCO.

The nation rises when education is implemented and stands strong only we hold together. The rising mass shouldn’t be stopped when Nation itself is in the race.
